i have only just come onto the scene and want to fit a vt body kit to my desire. I've looked at the guides, but it doesnt seem as easy as i thought...Whats the chances of messing it up?

i think wilsy done it and wasnt happy, im unsure how hard it is, see how much a body shop would do it, i doubt it would be that expensive, if you havent done anythin like this before could be a pain

Get a bodyshop to fit it. The rear arches have to be cut as they petrude below the vt arch.

Gotta agree with the lads, if you don't know how to do it seek the help off people that do. Body shops will amke the car look mint!

How far away is Bracknell from Nuneaton? Ill do it for you for half the price of whatever your local bodyshop will do it :)

Its a piece of cake really (Have a look through my previous made threads and see the guide that i made for it)

It all depends on which method you want to use to fit it:

1) Do you want to do it 100% by the book and drill holes in your panels etc for the clips to go into, this is good and the correct way but it isnt always the best

2) Do you want to use existing holes combines with a bit of tigerseal or silkaflex to hold it to the car? Although this may seem a quicker and less 'right' option its so much better than standard fitting due to the fact that the panels will never come off and clips wont break etc.

Only trouble with option 2 is that theres no easy option to removing items of the kit again, you have to carefully peel it off.

Gimme a PM with exactly what you're thinking of doing and ill do my best to help you further :)

exactly as he said i used both drilled holes and tigerseal and have just removed the kit the other day all the clips popped out easy but the tigerseal took me ages with a heat gun to get it off.

Your best bet is to take your time and look through ebay, scrappys and on the for sale section here and gather parts of the VT kit that are already in your cars colour (if its a fairly common colour this will be easy!)

Then a bodyshop shouldnt really charge alot to fit it, probably about £100-£150 max

Seriously though its really not difficult to do, get a mate to give you a hand and give it a go :)

NO bits will need cutting, the only bit that will need to be is the rear 1/4 panels so that they dont pertrude under the rear VT arches.

Theres plenty of pics and diagrams on this :y:
