Youve picked the worst VTS year to put in with regards to wiring. Mechanics and wiring is a piece of piss, but its not all plug and play.

It's piss easy mate, ax forums does have the info but not much, (imo that guy charges to join the site for crap) look around some boards on the net have detailed information about it, a good mechanic (who's handled both the saxo's and ax's) will be able to do it with all the right parts in a few hours.

That said, it's not very reliable, alot of things go wrong with a VTS engine in the AX, just source a 1.3 twin carb GT engine or the 1.4Gti engine, a few nice mods will get you 130bhp, lighter! or better still BUY A VTS! not that expensive now mate.

LMFAO at AX VTS's being unreliable. Its because too many retards do it incorrectly, cut corners and generally havent a clue what they are doing.

In the 6 years Ive had mine, Ive replaced a driveshaft, two wheel bearings and thats been it. The cars been bombproof.

cheers for every whose posted! just i have got a smashed up vts ready to strip for the parts. I will be doing hte work my self as have a ramp and most tools to do the job. just never realy had much to do with saxos or axs, i want to use a ax as smaller, lighter, cheaper, buying and insurance wise.
so basically the mercanical is bolt in i take it? i am just not sure wot drive shafts n hubs to use at the moment.
thanks, scott.

Ok god.
Avert your eyes when youre talking to me.

Ive built quite a lot of AX VTS's, and carry out the servicing for the respective owners. Only problems theyve ever had have been from using crap scrapyard parts in an effort to save money.

So yes, you may address me as god, but cash "offerings" would be more appreciated.

theres a new muppet each day.

i do love it when people question the knowlege of very reputable users.

as mr GAYbastard said, nothing wrong with the ax that makes the conversion unreliable, as ur effectively using all the saxo parts anyway.

as with any engine conversion the only thing that makes it a good conversion is how skilled the person is at doing it.

wel i will be using all saxo parts do hopfully wil be as reliable as a saxo. I will be doing a quility job (i hope 2 be) as i dont want it to be falling apart, especially if i go mad on engine, hopefully turbo later on.....
thanks for entertainment, lol, any thanks agen for advise/help.

Gabbastard your the man i hope to be doing this conversion when i have sorted my lock up out and i will be pming you for info. Do you have any internet sites that have info on this conversion. Are the engine mounts the same?

Gabbastard

nah drivers side engine mounts are different, but you can mix and match the AX and Saxo mounts to make it work. Other ones, you just use the AX mounts and itll work fine.

is there any welding etc or is it all just nuts and bolts lol. What sort of tools do i need?

Gabbastard
10th August 2007, 20:26
Nah no welding, just normal tools. But you can do it one of two ways, and one includes an angle grinder if youre that way inclined ;)

lmao at this thread and ax being unrealiable!

why would a saxo owner want to reshell into an ax if they think they are shite?
