Yes
No, not unless your car/cams max out at over 6500rpm
the sound is to warn you your driving like a fool:P

6250.

why do you need to go higher on standard cam? are you incapable of changing gear?

the powerband is below that rev limit, so the car would be slower if it wasnt there, and also wouldnt be good for the engine.

Only reason i can think of would be for 0-60 times, iirc the top whack in 2nd is 59mph.....

But imo if you're going over the limiter on stock parts youre not gonna be going over the limiter for long......

but the standard cam wouldnt be producing its best power there, IRC it drops off after 5.5k on std 8v cam so you are actually loosing performance from over revving beyond the powerband.

std internals are actually quite solid, PSA are rumoured to have tested them to 12-14K...

its just pointless when the cam only produces power up to a set point.

12-14 k! OMFG. That's awesome, lol!

If the engine is well looked after, and driven softly until up to temperature, there's nothing wrong with some high reving action! ;) Just don't take the piss and do it ALL the time. Another good tip, is when you start the engine from cold, wait 10 seconds before you drive off. The amount of people who start their cars and begin moving before they have virtually let go of the key is shocking! Very bad for the engine, as the oil hasn't had a chance to move into areas where its required.

Let's hope that when you drop the sump plug, you don't have to spoon it out! lol. Don't buy a boost valve, unless you want lose power...

Boost valves are for numpties, so steer clear of that old one. I meant the sump plug mate, on your car... I.e., let's hope the oil currently in there is still, err, oil? Hehe.

Hitting the limiter isn't a problem..thats what its there for to stop over revving..Just dont hold it on the limiter for like 5 mins at a time..lol

As said on a standard cam my westy hits the limiter at 6500rpm..the redline starts at 6250rpm..The highest i rev mine is 6000rpm..Anymore than that and your just really dropping off the power..

If you want it to rev more get a more aggressive cam and have the rev limiter raised..

The Xr2i will feel quicker because its about 900 years old and has worse build quality than any french car..A VTR would play with one especially through the bends..
