Hi guys,
I have an ongoing problem with my exhaust, It started with the standard system which was blowing so i replaced it with a new standard system (cat, centre pipe and back box) not too long after this i noticed the exhaust sounded like it was blowing again.... so i took it to a garage and they diagnosed the baffles had gone in the rear box.... so i replaced it. Again the same thing happened, the baffles went after 2 or so months.
Following this i removed that box and put a 'performance' back box which made a lot of noise (cant tell if the baffles went in this). However i soon decided that this was too loud but i liked the look of it so i got a silencer welded into the centre section and it was really nice and quiet. But sure enough couple of months down the line its starting to get loud again!
Why is my car ruining baffles every 2 months?
Please help!
ps its a 2000 1.1 106 zest2

If its an ongoing problem which is going though parts as quick as this would say take it to peugeot and get them to plug it into the diagnostic machine and check the system over as there maybe a smaller fault which is causing a problem.

Def need to get the car on a machine so it can tell the operator whats going on. Exhausts should last alot longer than 2months! Even mild steel sports exhausts, but sounds about the right time for a Powerflow system ;)

Or maybe the two or so months is just long enough for the exhaust to bed in, and the sound is simply that. So when you go to a garage they are just replacing a perfectly working system?? Just a guess, as its highly unlikely to be going through systems every couple of months

I can see your point about the bedding i, you might be right there. However the car does have a very slight misfire throughout the rev range, I was told by a colleague at lunch that this could be causing it.

Is that right or is that rubbish?

I wouldn't know, but either way, I really can't see your exhaust going that quickly. Take it to a different garage, and make sure you state its had a new exhaust fitted, so they know they can't rip you off. My exhaust purs a little, but thats due to the sports backbox:y:
