Winny 4th October 2009 20:33

Thanks for all the comments!

The job was priced at £3500+ roughly but my dad is friend with the owners of MRS and I helped prep a little. Set me back £2000 in the end.:y:

Another photo, closer up!

Beenie 4th October 2009 20:50

I wanted something different to the 'normal' solid euro look rims, (eg. schmidt's, ronal's) I think a big brake conversion would set them off. Will see anyway lol.

Beenie 5th October 2009 22:20

fair enough, just don't think they suit the car, just my opinion, but if you like them thats all that matters.

just get it a bit lower ;)

Adz 5th October 2009 22:41

wow, that is one nice saxo, best thing i like is how you have done all thw rok yourself, so the end result is even better mate,

very well done,

i carn't wait till i buy a new car and do all this,

Lush, and a good read too,
+ good progress

Adz

CHIP 5th October 2009 22:53

Looks smart pal. Needs to be lower to be 'euro' but im sure you'll sort that :y:

Only thing i dont like is the smooth boot. I have never seen a Saxo pull it off imo. Just dosent look right. BUT i do like the bumper! How it should be done rather than a plate in the window :y:

DannoWilko 6th October 2009 06:40

Beaniemoo 6th October 2009 18:35

Looks awesome mate, nice to see more threads with 'euro' in the title going somewhere!
Will keep my eye on this thread, as this has some real potential :-)

I'm quite happy with the supersprint's look at the mo, and it will come in if I don't want to leave my car all 'show' and no 'go' lol.

Thanks dude I love your thread, and saw your feature in Fast Car(I think?), next big thing to do is leather retrim everything! But I don't have a colour yet or any cash lol. :fcuk:

Before anyone else asks I'm gonna sack off taxi'ing people around and deck my car when I get on with its service, its only at 50mm at the moment.

I'll get some more pictures up this weekend. ;)

gouldy87 6th October 2009 19:32

not low enough by a long way, how much stretch have you got on those tyres? me thinks you need more

Winny 6th October 2009 19:34

195 on 8J all spaced out, should tuck just right I'll get a pic up in daylight.

Excuse filth, going to wash on weekend. :bored:

Winny 9th October 2009 17:46

Ignore the above post to show the tire stretch! I'm after probably some 185's now, I had the wheels off today to wax thoroughly for winter and found some old spacers. Stuck these tight up to my H&R Trak spacers with some longer bolts and pretty much got the stance I wanted to start with lol!

:drink:

VTomR 9th October 2009 17:47

looking sweet fella!

Elliott 10th October 2009 13:38

Cheers mate!
Got some nice poke going on there now.
How much lower are you hoping to go?
My fronts are 185's on 8" to give you an idea of the stretch you'll get.
Interior plans sound nice, its just a shame money is the bane of every project
Keep it up

skeltan 14th October 2009 18:42

Looks real good dude =] How much did the re spray skin ya?

iDaNz_VTR 14th October 2009 19:48

looks good mate but i would of hided the zorst of make it more euro but very nice mate :)

Davo106 14th October 2009 20:03

Not keen on the smoothed boot and bumper, just looks too empty on the back for my liking.

Needs lowering more tooooo :P

Will look good when its low though :)

£2000 at mates rates, the paint was near £600 for 6 liters. :(

I was going to but if I'm planning on keeping this car for some time I might tinker with the engine too.

Each to his own on the boot/bumper :P I had a quick read through your thread and I love your 13"'s. My car will be getting lowered as soon as I get the funds to put it through a full service & MOT which is due soon ( :( ) and to answer other comments I've been daydreaming about some Image billet 14"s but unsure on price and width/offsets, I'm awating an email.
http://www.imagewheels.co.uk/pages/wheels_billet.html

But nothings happening without any brass lol so I'll just wash my car and put a pic up this weekend lolz. :y:

Danborambo 18th October 2009 19:49

Dont know how i missed this thread.... so much work into this, and its very nice mate, credit to you for it.
Once its lowered it will be perfect.

Winny 19th October 2009 20:34

Thanks for the comments dude!

Still in two minds for wheels, I'm sure going lower and some bigger brakes behind the spoked dish will make them look well(like Elliott's avatar), they do look great in the metal as they are but pictures don't do justice.
The dream is to make it look like this. :D

Been looking at uprating the brakes anyway seeing as mine need replacing and I have to ask if anyone knows if Wilwood Midilites fit behind a 15" alloy, this website states so but they are 285 mm, which is cutting it close with the calipers.

Cheers! :afro:
