Default Winnys Euro Saxobrown continued! New owner - Little Bro ;)

Hi Guys,
Long time reader first time poster. I thought I'd show you what I've been up to althought little progress has been made to what plans I have.

This is how I bought the car.

I started shopping afterwards and picked up some GAZ coilovers off a friend.

After a huge amount of wheel browsing, I had my heart set on some Schmidt TH lines, but its been done so I went for some Keskin KT8's. 15" x 8J with 195 tires.

This is how my car sits at the moment with 25mm H & R spacers on the rear wheels.

I don't have any decent pics from the rear but you can see the rim in my mirrors so I'm happy with the stance at the moment, could do to be lower but the cars a daily.

I've started to smooth the car, going to pick up a new boot to smooth and work on this saturday, meshing my grill at the moment too.

New exhaust and center pipe is on its way;
http://www.kamracing.co.uk/kam-racin...r-saxo-16.html

I'm undecided between mid silincer or a straight through Supersprint though any input would be great!

I hope to try and keep this thread updated but that depends on my bank balance, and I hope you like the changes so far!

Cheers,
Winston~

Thanks Rob, I'll try get some pics up when I get this new boot prep'd.

The ride is really good Lee, I'm running them hard with the adjustable stiffness, dropped about 50mm - 55mm. Corners 100% better I just crap myself when I hit a cats eye overtaking, feels like I've run into a curb lol.

Lol my girlfriend forgot I stayed logged in on her iPod and thought anyone could reply.

Sunday fog light progress!

Reinforced the fog light hole by welding wire mesh behind the hole with some cut offs of plastic, because the plastic is quite waxy, didn't think it would be best to fibre glass straight to it.

A quick skim of fibreglass front and back.

And lots and lots of filler.

Ready for primer now.

They set me back £700 from Rimstyle.com, plus the H&R spacers were £110 for 2 x 25mm.

The rims wouldn't actually go on without less than 20mm spacers I don't think, but I was going for the 50mm trak widening regardless so it worked out.

Bump! Been busy.

Meshed and primed my grill.

Also got online and did some shopping, got a mid silencer 2" Supersprint exhaust!

Really please with the result, subtle but mighty!

Then got to work on smoothing the boot and cleaning the rear and to do this I had to find a new home for the number plate.

New number plate recess mould.

After fibreglassing a mould made-to-measure, I cut a hole in the rear bumper and pop rivetted brackets on the inside to put another skin of fibreglass over to hold the recess in place.

Inside view.

Outside.

All of the rivets are countersunk and will be invisible when finished. I'm gonna try blend the box in tomorrow with fibreglass and filler.

** Many thanks to my Grandad and Uncle for having hundreds of miscallaneous tools and lots of time on their hands to help me! **

Comments welcome.

I'm gonna smooth out the locks and badges on the bump strips, relocate the washer jets all along with the 2nd boot panel I picked up to smooth, in the wooden mould pic.

@ Dsh, I've booked my car in with one of my Dads friends who owns a bodyshop in August, but if I haven't finished the work and prepped it for spraying it'll be September probably.

could probably get at least another 10mm lower and will look spot on then

one thing though... i dont personally think a saxo suits a fully smoothed boot needs the number plate to break it up imo

but nice work on doing it all yourself btw

I want to wind down the coilovers a bit more but the wheels are too wide to tuck and I'm already scrubbing at the back with half a tank of petrol.

As for the smooth boot, it would be rude not to!

Your wheels arent too wide mate, you tyres are! You need some 165 or 175 tyres on there, then the stretch of the tyre will allow you to go lower

Yeah LOL I'm going to try 175's next I think, was a bit unsure of ordering them with 165's on, it's a big stretch for a daily and I'm unsure where to get tyres that stretched fitted.
