mark_saxp 3rd January 2010 17:31

amazing man, i just love euro cars so much effort to make it look right though! i think you should also colour code your headlights with the same body work paint?

CHIP 3rd January 2010 18:39

Looking good mate. Colour look's very smart. Personally would have kept the plate on the boot as i think smoothed boot's on a Saxo look abit poo. But the car does look good mate and atleast you've done something with the back bumper rather than a plate in the back window :y:

saxowebby 3rd January 2010 19:00

must say it looks awesome mate, i know the amount of work gone into it as im doig mine myself aswell.

fair play to you, the finnished product is awesome

Winny 3rd January 2010 19:04

Boring update!

Started to bring my car back to good health today, so far I've got;
- Head gasket skimmed and resealed
- New cam belt
- New clutch kit, just for one thrust bearing! :(
- New drive shaft
- New washer jet pump
- Full service
- Basically anything else I find wrong with it while its in pieces
- MOT on friday

Goodbye christmas bonus. At least it should be like new!

Jimmy-Boy 12th January 2010 18:53

Sunday 13th January 2010 00:10

Winny, you know what i think. And yes winter massively affects progress, mine would've been finished and in the bodyshop by now if it wasnt for the gay fucking snow!

-Alex- 14th January 2010 22:02

Amazing car, amazing work, my god I love this car SO much lol!!!
House of kolor (sp) paint is such a superb choice, really cannot beat it!

dj_enzo 14th January 2010 23:32

love the car mate need to do the same with my rear bumper as i've got a smoothed tailgate my number plate is attact to the bumper but wanna fab the lights into a recess like urs. love it mate

blackvtrt 21st January 2010 02:56

coming along nicely, still abit high at the mo tho. When u lower it id run 185/45/15's on the rear, i couldnt drop my car below 60mm or so with 195's on with 8" wheels on the back and thats with trimming some arch work to give a couple extra mm's! It all counts, lol. Mines down around 80mm or so now. Wont go any lower without a bigger stretch or camber which cant be done on the rear. Can't even get my little finge in between the gap between the arch & the wheel!

As for the front u'll prob find the GAZ collies wont go down as far as ud like, mine are wound all the way down & id say they only go 80mm or so MAX! U still have a fare gap between the arch & the wheel & im running 15's BUT with a pritty big stretch, might be ok for you.

hudsonkh 21st January 2010 05:06

very well done mate .. im impressed !!

stu-n-shell 23rd January 2010 10:30

dont like the euro scene but realy nice mate good diy work.

Winny 30th January 2010 10:48

Thanks for the comments everyone!

Still trying to figure out how to get the car down, maybe 185's 175's or 14" wheels with stretch? Chassis notched which is more money, will need to be ready for show time.

nobbs51 30th January 2010 10:52

looks smart now pal. Ive got some 8x15" compomotive th lines for mine. Think i will run a 185x45x15 tyre now after reading your thread. Keep up the good work!

Winny 7th March 2010 13:52

New wheels being built up this week, 14" x 9J :)
Just needs the 195 tires on with plenty of stretch!

Another lowering, then its onto the engine bay and interior!

Taylor_MK 7th March 2010 16:40

Quality car mate. Love this thread!!

Winny 18th April 2010 13:46

I haven't really whored a lot of pics lately on this forum so I spent an hour playing with the SLR in the sun at my Grandads house. :D I know its not a very ghetto place to shoot but it'll do lol.

Excuse the steels, Schmidts /should/ be here Thursday!

Steels!

Had to climb onto his roof for these lol, but worth it for the last one imo! :)

I haven't ran any of these through photoshop, just good light on the paint.

chrisvtr1989 18th April 2010 14:34

im running 175 tyres on 8.5j wheels if that helps in anyway?
one thing, i can see everyone saying your copying chandlers old car, (same colour-ish and wheel choice). i personally think it looks nice and will look great with the new rimage but prepare yourself for them type of comments when you go to shows

Winny 18th April 2010 14:48

I wanna pull away from that with a red re-trim and then attack it with a VTS lump dropped in, we'll see anyway. I just picked brown/bronze because its "euro" and they're aren't so many 14" wheels that come in the dimensions TH Lines do, that look as good as they do. People can say what they like haha. ;)

Thanks for the comments anyway, I think your car looks sick. Love the banded steels and interior, are you coming to the cleaned spring meet?

SaxoIOW 18th April 2010 14:56

Awsome! Really like the sound of the red re trim aswell. I am re trimming the roof lining and pillers in red suede at the moment, should be done soon :D

chrisvtr1989 18th April 2010 15:14

J222JRA 18th April 2010 15:19

jamieross 18th April 2010 15:48

i like the colour of this! :y:

geordie_alex 18th April 2010 16:18

very cool little saxo, love the colour reminds me of a Mk1 golf I saw, add a little chrome to the mix and you have a very old skool looking car.

Rob-6 18th April 2010 18:40

lot of hard work gone into this by the looks of it, paid off though it looks mint!

Winny 30th April 2010 17:51

My shipment of win has arrived! (finally)

Still waiting for gold 3-piece bolts, gold wheel studs and spike center caps, which are arriving via a seperate courier, and a hub boss which is somewhere in Italy?!

I'll put the wheels on as they are and get some pictures up.
