Pizza delivering insurance?

Thinking about delivering pizza's on an evening. What kind of insurance do you need? Heard somewhere you have to have commuting insurance? Anyone shed any light

Probably will just need to let your insurance know you're not just using the car for social uses or whatever you've told them you use it for at the moment. Will probably go up a bit though.

How olds your mate? I'm wondering if age effects it at all

rey 15th May 2011 02:57

Surely it's classed as business miles?

adjy90 15th May 2011 04:25

most companys will put you onto there insurance

domino's pay you hourly wage+ petrol + your on there insurance

swampy 15th May 2011 04:26

Yep have to register it as business milage.
Though i expect most dont

Scott-jarvis 15th May 2011 09:20

I expect most people dont say a word

Prickle 15th May 2011 09:21

Business iirc.

Couple of mates (and many more around here) did it for a year or so without the business insurance and they had no bother. Just hide the bag or say you are taking it home. ;)

chris_ph2 15th May 2011 15:52

I was covered on domino's insurance when I was there. Huge excess though so try not to crash!

Lew77 16th May 2011 18:31

I agree with John ... If you crash say the pizza is yours.

yeah it does depend on your ag but mate is only 24, and his lass is 22 and they were both covered, you have to declare it, if you dont you may aswell not have insurance

plus you get hammered now if you get caught, 6 points+ and a hefty fine, seem cars impnounded and everything

a few year ago when it first became popular with the police.. my mate got banned for a month, 3 points and a £400 fine for being caught, not worth it for maye £20 a month extra?

Like i said to them, their worry. ;)

I was considering it a while back but thought fuck it. Might not find the house. :A:

Moke 16th May 2011 22:17

I wouldn't say anything tbh.

They're hardly going to question you having a pizza in your car if you've just crashed :S

CEdwards 16th May 2011 23:49

dont say a word. :)

Ryves 17th May 2011 19:52

I THINK that you have to be 21, my mate applied for it when he was 18 and they turned him down because of his age.
