Your VTR will be a 8V with 90bhp.
16V is better.

Lol as Goudly said, the difference is 8 more valves. And of course the 16v will be faster if thats what you mean by being 'better'

It doesnt. usually retarded 8v owners say it does because they want a reason to justify why they dont have a 16v engine.

The 90 and 98bhp 1.6 8v saxos have 100 lb-ft torque, the 1.6 16v has 107 lb-ft. So not really ;)

the 16v will have a better top end due to being able to flow more air into the head.

The whole "8v has more torque" comes from the fact that the 8v engine's produce their peak torque at much lower RPM's than the 16v..
How this got twisted to "8v's have more torque" is beyond me..
