the power on the mk2 vtr was upped to 98bhp so why was the vts not upped ??

it was to do with emmissions the changes, vts just got an egr valve

im not sure tbh, i know the cat was moved from underneath to the manifold but i cant remember off the top of my head what changes they made to get this increase otherwise

someone will come up with the goods on here im sure

I have read somewhere that the VTR engine has been restricted alot due to the performance being close the the VTS, thus meaning more poeple would buy the VTR to the VTS which Citreon didnt want to happen - hence the restrictions.

Not sure if the story totally true, but that what I read and cant remember for the life of me where I read it!

lots of dafties try to say that a vtr will smoke a vts off the line but av had plenty of races wae vtr's and left everyone behind from the line

av just checked torquestats.com and parkers.com and both say the 98bhp vtr has 100lbs torque and the vts 107 so........

uh oh ive started a debate now lol,

dosent wikipedia or summit throw up the answer to the changes!

mine hits 62mph before the limiter comes in...thats because I haz foglights on though...

gmc web sight says this about the vtr m8
