What Set-up

I know these set-ups wont do wonders, but don't want my exhaust to be too loud, bit over standard though, and a sporty sound!

The options are listed above what i can do, wanting best performance... dont understand back pressures and stuff if someone cares to explain :y:

You will need either a CAT or a centre box for back pressure and sound pressure wave purposes.

I would have the CAT if you worry about being legal.

I would can the diesel centre section buddy and go for a Supersprint middle section at least. With or without silencer. The diesel centre pipes bore is too small and wont do any favours as your keeping the standard bore size.

Then twin the supersprint with a backbox of your choice.

not sure how much bigger but apparantly it is bigger........
and the peco is only 2nd hand one kicking around at the moment dont have funds for a new one.....

Ok then but still the bore will reduce in the centre on the bends and not flow as well as it could. I cant be near 2" bore can it?

The derv pipe is the same bore as the petrol. If it is by some weird stroke different then the Peco back box won't fit. Ebay the peco and centre section off and buy a decent system

is that my best bet? what about this little thing called back pressure? are the standard box's too restrictive though?

Not sure about how restrictive the standard boxes are. Thats what my system is (apart from my manifold is 4-2-1) i've only kept the standard box on because im past the stupidly loud exhausts etc.

if your gunna de-cat it mate you better be friendly with your mot inspector or you'll have to change it back to normal once a year.

but that said id still get it done a sod the back pressure it would sound awesome. lol

your only saying that to use me as a test dummy :homme: mot not due for 7 - 8 month so am ok for now :y: dont know what to do! keeping standard backbox on! jus wether to de-cat or not :p

id go for the manifold and diesel pipe with standard backbox

this way u get good performance and a good sound, but also makes it look more 'standard' so itll sound nice without a backbox ;)

itll keep backpressure too

well, fucked out! car now sounds like a john deer tractor! blowing like hell, was a bitch to fit and move the sensor! and couldnt get one or 2 bolts back onto the engine.... getting it booked in at manic motors for him to sort!

The nack with exhausts is no keep some kind of Back pressure unless your running a turbo then it can be a stright through exhaust with a massive open can.

If your simply wanting noise then a straght through setup and a Jap style can which the gases can flow through unrestricked will give the loudest note and almost a turbo style burbble on tick over but with this will most probally lose you performance.

If your looking for perofmance then a striaght through centre section is still fine but a slighlty restrictive back box might aid back pressure and increase performance.

Any of the leading brands such as Piper, Scorpion, Janspeed and Mongoose (not Magnex as I dont like the look of the rear siliencer hanging below the car) back boxes would be fine joined to a decated exhaust and 4branch manifold.

If you was looking to purchase a Peco then go with that over standard because of the look and extra deep throaty note, wheather the Peco would perform as well as a more expensive back box like piper or scorpion I couldnt say.

If it was my money I would Go for a decat, straight through centre section and a 3' Dual Exit Scorpion back box - If dual exit takes your fancy and you hadnt thought of it before then Peco do a dual exit rear exhaust for the saxo with a choice of tial pipe options
