Default Gear probs. PLEASE HELP

My car's been stood for almost three months and when I started it up and drove for a short while I noticed there was quite a lot of movement in the gearstick when the engines not running.

There is also a kind of gritty feel as well

Is this down to it just been stood or are there other problems I need to consider?

I know that the driveshafts need replacing. Will this be linked to the gearbox problems?

i would say lack of gearbox oil,if the driveshafts have leaked any oil it will cause the gearbox to feel stiff for definate, most of the time replacing driveshafts the gearbox will lose oil,so nows the time to replace them and dont leave it to long! and replace your gearbox oil 2

Gearbox oil was changed recently. Its as though you can just move the gearstick around *(not in it's usual lines) when the engines not on.

There's been no oil leaking from the driveshafts on the driveway.
