Default engine soundin a bit rattly

rite ive got a vtr mk2 Y reg and its starting 2 sound a bit rattly it runs perfect no shudders or anything always starts first time but sounds like something is tapping when i rev it not loud but i can just hear it.... would it be worth just tightening the tappets up and if so how do you do it?? cheers

I have this... Need new Tappets as they are Hydraulic can't just tighten them... not hurting anything just sounds like a C Reg'd Ford Fiesta... Yes???

the mk2 have hydraulic tappets but the mk1s like mine are normal and can be adjusted. just keep checking on the oil level and make sure you are using the right oil too

i have a mk2 with the 98bhp and they are not Hydraulic Tappets as i tightened mine today

I always thought that the vtr tappets are adjustable. It is only the vts that are Hydraulic??..??

The VTS is the only saxo model which has hydraulic tappets. The rest are adjustable.

ok cheers lads... someone siad that it mite of been because of me having a s/s centre section and backbox with there been no back pressure??? is this right or not
