as above . had ma headgasket changed there. now i started the car and there`s quite alot off white smoke. will that just clear out after running for a while ? or is there something not right when the gasket was done? also i decatted the car at the same , but i dont think that would have anything to do with it. would it? also when i take the oil cap off theres white shite gathered on it. any info would be great. thanks

The gunk on the underside of the oil cap is the mixture of oil and water.(im pretty sure)
It is one of the signs of the head gasket being blown. Did it have gunk like that before you had the gasket changed?

no gunk before mate. the gasket i took off was fine. ive changed it to a thicker gasket for my turbo conversion. but there is gunk now. just need to know if this is what always happens when changing a gasket or there is something wrong. cheers

That white shyte is coolant getting into your oil supply. Bad bad... Does it require an oil change? If so, might be worth doing that, and seeing if the problem persists. If it does, then your new headgasket hasn't been fitted correctly. Poor show...

Tbh it could have just been spilt water into the block, seen it happen a few times after head gasket changed. I would run the car and let it clear up, if the white gung gets alot worse then the situation is a bit more serious, but I personally wouldn't be too worried if you havent given it time to clear yet.

Gunk is bad mean water is in the oil = head gasket

Is the car running ok or does it have a missfire or anything.

Think you said you had a turbo on it. Turbos can white smoke if the car isnt running correctly
