Selling Up
I know that these threads appear all the time and everyone asks what there cars worth etc etc.
I like the saxo tbh, it's quite a nice car, but tbh i think i want something a little bigger, but not too big, better build quality, strong and nice and comfy etc, and so far the car i'm thinking of is a Golg Gti 1.8T Mk4.
What are people's views on them and is it the right car for what i want? I think it is tbh, seems to tick the right boxes etc
cheers

tell you what someone needs to create a sticky about "next cars". "new car advise" if it ticks all the right boxes google reviews about the model your looking at dont really ask a different car forum tbh you wont get half as much info as you would if you google "golf 1.8t reviews" blabla, golfs are good cars pretty expensive but can be pretty reliable. depends on your budget and your requirements really though.

its not the anniversary one, but i'd get the anniversary bumper lips to go on it, plus the one i've seen has R32 alloys. yum yum
not sure on a selling value yet, still got to 100% confirm with myself i'm going to sell, but would be looking to spend around £6K.

6k would get you a very good condition golf turbo, maybe stretch to a fabia vrs ? depends really what you want or need.

Good car imo. Just not as quick as they should be... hence a bit of engine tweeking is needed!

shame you want to sell up matey.
but the golf gti turbo is one of the best cars you can get for 2nd money at the min, you can tune them and get big bhp hikes for little pounds
go for a fully loaded full leather on mate

the normal gti is 150bhp
the anniversary is 180bhp with the r32 bumpers etc and 18" chrome BBS alloys and full leather
tbh i would just get a normal fully loaded gti and go from there.
PM if you want some info on what you can get etc, i have a load of shit in my head about these, i have a few mates with them which have had big power.
nearly got one instead of my vts lol
best engine to tune imo at the moment

boz - cheers for that, will pick your brains at some point.
the gti i've seen is the 150 bhp model, and has cloth recaro's, sooo nice.
just got to get my ass into gear.
also, there's no difference in insurance, tho i think it works out at £10-20 back to me.

Will be the best thing you ever do mate...
I'll never leave German car's since my move from the French darkside.
French cars, 106s and Saxos are alright for first few cars, good fun, cheap and fast...
They are about as classy as a pregnant 12 year old though, you'll love the VW world mate.
Drop me a PM if you need to ask anything in particular!

my dad had a chipped toledo 20vt. 180bhp as standard, god knows what it ade with the chip but it upset a fair few "faster" car owners.
wolf in sheeps clothing that was. sold it for £5.5k too on an 04 plate with 25k miles. i was gutted.
nice cars them golfs especially the anniversary.
