Leaving an engine ticking over on cold isnt good for your car.

^^^^^^
it is worse leaving your engine idling for 2minutes than it is turning it on and off within the 2mins..... also there is NOTHING worse than idling FROM COLD FULL STOP!
so yes they are pretty useless

That could quite possibly be the most stupidest comment i've ever heard.
For a start, your handbrake wasn't on?
You should leave it in first if you're facing up hill
If the engine was on.. it would just stall if it was in gear anyway..

I was told that my insurance would go up if I added remote start to an aftermarket system. Was going to get the new clifford 850, but then funds went downhill, lol.

They are bad for the engine, puts unnecesary strain on the starter motor,
My mate had one on his impreza. tried to show off outside the pub, it was in 1st, jumped forward and hit a bollard in the carpark,
they are nothing but hassle with the only benefit being that you dont get your little hands cold when you drive on a cold morning

You're next! lol sod
Nothing to do with remote start though.
Its a cool perk for impressing your mates, but in reality not worth paying any extra for, mine was fitted free of charge within my alarm fitting and since having it fitted i can count on 1 hand how many times ive used it.
Since doing the engine conversion aswel im not enturely sure that itll be working now
