Default Revs But No Power

Hi all,

I have trawlled through the Q&A's, but can't seem to find what I'm looking for. The car will rev, but as I'm driving along and going up a gear, it just dosn't accelerate, just revs. It was fine yesterday, only started doing it this morning, probably cos I polished it! Bloody thing! Any ideas muchly appreciated!

Sounds like your clutch is shot !!!

My car used to do it - i left it , and it go so bad, that motorway driving I couldn't accelerate up hills, so had to try and build momentum etc. When I pushed the acc pedal past a certain point my car owuld just rev but not get any faster.

I paid £250 to get a new clutch fitted to my 1.4 - was at a specialist brake and clutch centre.

Having just done an engine conversion on mine, it's not a hard thing to do, replacing a clutch, but just takes a little while + probably only worth doing if you know how things go together/work.
