laquer on base coat on alloys??

I am in the process of sprayin my alloys, i have sanded, primed and colour coated them

do i need to 1200 wet and dry to colour coat before i apply the laquer?

if i do, then wouldnt that destoy the look of the paint?

1200 grade or 1500 grade wet & dry very lightly rub down then wash off dry thoroughly then lacquer.If your careful with the rubbing down you should be ok.
