changing bent trailing arm help
Ma wee bro spun out and hit a kirb.
Av not been up to see it yet but the aa guy said the trailing arm was bent.
so thats my job tae fix lol
Av never changed one but am thinking
Jack up.wheel off
Undo shockie
Undo anti role bar and take out
Undo torsion bar and small washer Its the passenger rear so i bet the torsion bar is siezed
Am thinking the other torsion bar should be ok to stay tight but am not sure yet
Undo hand brake
Undo brake pipes and block them to stop leaks
Then hit trailing arm off.
re fit new one and conect every thing above
Bleed brakes
Fit spare vtr wheel
Jobs done
What use think as I know when you take the arm off it might not seal properly

You should change the beam too, it's likely that it will be bent too.

mm I have my old axle with the beam fecked so.He wasnt needing to pay for the arm.
Hes only part time at school with a vtr lol so would be hard for him to pay for a full axle.
I can see his car being off the road a while if it is bent to be honest.
I didnt think the beam would bend but you never no eh.
Al get a look at it tomorow and let use no how i get on.

its hard to change the arm and not dmager the bearings you will find that the bolts are rusty, you will probly struggle for a while to get the bar out, b easyier saving up for an axle
if he's at school why does he need a car unless you mean college?

Was hard to unsieze the torsion but i used a bit of heat and a hammer just gota make sure you hit it off square and it comes off no probz
Arm went on fine and was no play once it was on so i say it should be ok
