i was wondering if i was to get a new head unit would i have to tell the insurance company?

don't think so m8, most if not all insurance companies cover £1000 worth of stereo equipment in ur car as soon as ur insurance starts, check all ur insurance forms for these it should be detailed, if not contact em and just tell em that u r quering about it m8

When i got my system, subs, amps, speakers, head unit etc i told them but they said if i dont want to pay any more they cover upto £1100 or if i need more i think it was only like an extra £50 but i didnt bother!

you usually don't have to tell them anything!
most insurnace companies will cover £500 as standard!
