make a claim or not?
sorry if this should be insurance but thinking thats for just prices etc..
My girlfriend parks her car on our road all the time but woke up this morning so a skuffed bumper and dislodged foglight on her corsa....now were both pretty sure that there was a big van (taxi type) parked behind her..
we have just confronted the guy and he claims he was parked up the road and that it want him he has also convinently had his van washed today so only the scuffs can be seen... but where there is a gap in the bumper where the fog light used to be there was no contact and so no scuffs on his van i have measured this gap on both vehicls and they are near enough the same..
what are your guys opinions??
regards
chris

is there paint transfer on his van? if so take a pic and a pic of your gf's car to compare colour / height of impact etc. then see what the result is and if it was really the other driver.

tough one. as you said look again and measure where the impact is height etc and look on the van and do the same, compare the results and look for paint transfer.
if you feel their is conclusive evidence then take pics of both vehicles and seek some advice from citizens advice.

Jesus, That is a tough one. Agree with above /\
I wouldnt claim just yet incase it affects your premium, work out how much damage cost there is compared to insurance costs... I.e excess.. might go up next year?? lose no-claims
Good luck thou mate

Googled it quick for ya
With dipped headlamps and the ignition switched on, operate the rear fog lamp switch and check that a rear fog lamp
. is fitted to the centre or offside of the vehicle
. is working, and
. does not flicker when tapped lightly by hand.

Yep, a rear fog is required for an MOT. Front fog lights (called driving lights) arent neccesary.
