Default Vtr problem!

Hi guys,

I have a T reg VTR thats got a K&N air filter and has been superchipped along with some other minor stuff (brought it from a friend that did the work)

I was driving it down the motorway when the engine management light came on and the car lost all power, i could still drive it along at the same speed but any time i slowed down it would just stay at that speed and make a load of noise. I got it back home (5 hours on a tow truck and eventually they decide to look at it once i get home!) The AA guy fiddled with a wire that just sits behind the Air fitler and it started up again! I drove it home fine until i went over 4k revs and exactely the same thing happened. I managed to get it working again by playing with the wire, now the car doesnt start what so ever, just trys to start for about 2 seconds followed by alot of clicking.

I took off the air induction kit today, only to find it was completly covered in oil, cleaned it all up and took the wire out to make sure it was in place properly, put it all back together again and its still not working.

Sorry about the long winded post, hope someone might be able to help!

Cheers!

What you mean by this wire??? does it go to the mass airflow sensor?? is it in the air filler pipe?? but it sounds like to me, youve got a bad earth on the main battery line??
