Default Power Issue

Right heres on for you...my saxo starts fine sometimes but leave it for a bit then start it again and it proper struggles and makes a wierd noise as if it sounds like its struggling to start! then rarely it cuts out, then if i have the headlights on the demisters and my stereo it skips part of my song..like only a second or two but still annoying..and also when i pull out of a junction or to move off..it sounds like the fanbelt is slipping cos it makes tht annoying screcching sound...any ideas of repairs i can get done and price range!?

Thanks guys

Possibly fan belt is knackered therefore not charging battery, in turn won't start as well if at all or struggles to start, either adjust the fanbelt and go from there or go halfrauds and get a alternator/battery check carried out!!

Yep just go down and they'll sort it for you! and the fan belt should just need the tensioner tightening a bit. The problem is if the fanbelt is slipping it won't charge the battery therefore creating the problems you've been having! Hope that helps!

It doesn't take long to do the check prob 1/2 hour or there abouts. If you do take it to a mechanic he could sort it out for you for an hours labour! It's not a massive job!

I feel for ya, this is a knightmare - The only other thing that I can think of that could poss be causing this is the fuel pump or pipes, start by checking the fuel supply and return pipes and make sure you can hear the pump prime up, This happens on the second click of your key. It might also just be that It needs a new fuel filter!
