Default no spark from plugs?

i was wondering if theres a way to test my coilpack/spark plugs as none of them are sparking and well any help really would be great, ive took out all 4 spark plugs and put into coil pack and tried starting to see if there was a spark but nothing anyway i can test its not the coil pack gone i dont have a voltometer thingy and its costing me a arm and leg in tools alone, its a saxo vts 1.6 1998 model mk1. its been sat doing nothing for 2 yrs so its not easy for me to tell if the spark plugs just need changing and i dont fancy giving 15 quid for a set just yet ive had to replace the starter motor has that didnt seem to turn over, and i tho that was the only fault but now found theres no spark im getting fuel air etc fine

might seem daft but have you pressed the cut-off switch to make sure it isn't activated?

Have you tested the battery first off and if that's ok, It could possibly be the immobiliser causing the problem!

The coilpack really is the only other thing that could cause this. I would personally go that route first, even if you could borrow one to test it with that would at least either confirm it or eliminate it!!
