Unhappy Over reving???

Whilst stoped at traffic lights or when first starting my car it sits at higher revs than usual every now and then (has happended about 3 times in the last week). Does anyone know why this may be and how to stop it, up until now ive just restarted the car and that put a stop to it

go to the air intake you'll find a little thing facing the passenger/driver with two screws on it its the Idle Control Valve, you may need to remove the air intake big hose coming from front of car to get arms in better, where the filter box meets the carb its furthest from you there on other side away, two screws unplug and clean and replace, if this dont help its something else, its a 10-15min job
