1.1 East Coast Engine Problem
Hey People
Hope this is in the right place.
Looking for ideas or a diagnsis.
I have a 1.1 east coast saxo on just over 50k miles, Problem is after driving it home from TITP and left on the drive way for 2 hours or so, the engine now wont turn over, Just hear the cluck as it tries turning over........
Any ideas? Any replies asap would be great thanks

battery is fine as all HUD (the ones that are supposed to) lights are still fully lit and its like a 2 month old battery, and tried jump starting and that never worked also tried recharging battery, Tried putting into fifth and pushing the car but car wont move while engaged.

You'll never push or bump start a car in gear, well not 5th anyways!
Try bumping it in First or second mate!

Didn't work either! Would removing the spark plugs help, if it was just compression in the valves?

if it aint the starter motor, try getting a rolling bump start into 1st. and if that dont work theres other options...
is there petrol in the tank? lol...
is the immobiliser light flashing on the dash?

Have you checked all the battery connections, also give the starter a few taps with a bar and see if it free's it up! the other possibility is the alternator again check the connection if this is loose it might be breaking the power circuit in the wiring loom!

Checked over all battery connections, everything connected where it should be. Tapping the starter didnt work either. And im not sure about the altenator but RAC guy changed that over and didnt make a difference.

Solved this problem, The otherday whilst washing the car (K&N open filter) gave the bonnet underside a quick rinse obv managed to get water in the throttle too sooo flooded the engine litterally with water, But after and hour or so buying an engine for £100 (60k miles 1.1) and an engine on fire, She is running fine, oil changed over...... So glad I didnt have to scrap her
Thanks for all the suggetstions people
P.s yeah I know Im a twat for washing the air filter whilst connected to the throttle :O
