HELP! VTR kit on a Desire... How!?

Hi, I've bought a Desire Cat C and thought being as im replacing a few panels, may as well put a VTR kit on it.
Ive replaced the back bumper and alloys and have everything except for the front bumper so far.
My question is, what tips can you give me as to where to start?
Ive found out I'll have to cut my wings, thats fine. But do you have any tips for the actual fitting of the kit, should I start in any particular place or just whack it all on? Do I use tigerseal or something else???
Will it go on easy or not? I'm papping myself!
The car is on my drive in a respectable area and I promised the Neighbours it wouldn't be there long- 1 wk later and I keep putting it off coz Im scared I'll mess it up and look a tw*t.
