LLoyds TSB is on the fifth working day after paying it in (as already said by a few )
A cheque can still be returned up to 4 weeks after it has been paid in, that is why bankers drafts are not actually that good anymore. If they are fake, it can tae longer than the clearance cycle for that to ome out.

A cheque can be returned months or years after it seems to have cleared

Who actually still uses cheques?
I use them with the youth project I work with as to keep control on the finance.
Other than that ... never!
