Lightbulb squeeking gear stick

would this be because of the back box is too close to the gear leaver as this is what i have been told, when i have been driving the car for about 30 mins the gear leaver tends to stiffen up and squeaks like hell

Sounds more like the ball on the end of the stick has dried up. Unclip the gaiter, pop the ring off the stick then pull the lever up and it'll pop out. get some multipurpose grease in there and that should cure it.

mine did this i simply took the gaiter off completly and removed the plastic trim that goes around the gear stick if you know the peice i mean?!? once thats off there is 4 bolts around the gear stick undo them to see the gear linkage at the bottom of your gear stick, i sprayed that with a little WD40 and it never squeeked since
hope this helps
Andy
