Gauges progress thread
I thought I would make a thread showing my gauge fitting tips/techniques/problems! First of all I am mounting my guages in the DIN slot, using one of these:
Which is yet to arrive....
My gauges are as follows, Oil Temp, Oil Pressure (PSi) and Voltage.
I have also ordered the T piece to allow me to connect the sender unit for the oil pressure gauge aswell as leaving the original oil pressure switch still connected. Which looks like this:
(Image stolen from woodsy's thread, read it here!)
Once I recieve more parts and start wiring them up I will post more pictures. I hope I can help you people wanting to do this as I go along.
Ta,
Fred

yer DIN = stereo slot. The sender unit for the oil temp replaces the sump plug by the looks of things, so that one should be a piece of piss and so should the oil pressure provided your part numbers are correct from Demon Tweaks woodsy Where did you wire you voltage gauge up to woodsy? Any ignition live wire?
Stereo is going in the glove box...

id say put the headunit in the glovebox mate
i had 3 wires on my volt gauge, one for earth, one for switched live and one for sidelights, it dims slightly when you put the sidelights on

get a die and put the correct threads on it is it to big for the hole or too small anyway??
dies if you dont know what i mean by them
http://www.toolsnstuff.co.uk/index.p...ce0e7ae04db72d
put a bolt in the hole to find the correct size ie m10 etc then buy a die to suit it

yer i might have to, it starts but then gets real tight after about 1/4 of a turn...
the original sump plug goes 95% of the way in easily by hand....
Still waiting on the T peice from demon tweaks....
Also I thought I would test my voltmeter over the battery and nothing, any ideas?

ok ill do that on thursday on ma day off.
BONUS! I got the T peice for the oil pressure thingy from demon tweaks today. all it looking good for that.
Also about the sump plug , the one i have been supplied has a tapered thread and the standard one is not so hopefully I can source the correct one and then im good to go....
Just need to find a way of routing the cables from the cabin to the engine bay... lol
