PS3 surround sound - Saxperience

Is there anyway to get suurround sound from the PS3 without using optical? As i have a HTK but it has no optical input.

Can i use a HDMI switch box will that allow the HTK to pick up on the sound or will it not?

IF not this sucks!!

i have it going to my tv though hdmi and from my tv to my surround sound though phono leads

Only way for true dolby surround is though the optical output. You can do as mentioned above and run the sound through the tv then out into an amp but most amps would have the relevant optical input anyway so I don't understand why you would want to do it that way

I have a sony HTK, it doesnt have optical input.

Dont even think it has audio input but i may be wrong.

if you read my last post you will know my htk does not have phono inputs.

They way I have it at the moment- scarts going to a scart box and then to tv. This gives me sound through the htk I have to watch the blu ray through scary and not hdmi.

I have the surround sound running through my dvd player, works a treat.
