Default Help On Selling Number Plate...

Right, i can't find the specific answers on the dvla website...

I need to know how much this will cost me...

To take my private plate off- P15RKA,
Register the original plate back on- 03 plate,
Put the P15RKA on retention,
And then put the P15RKA in someone else's name...

Much love to those who help

Well... it will cost you £120 to put the plate onto rentention and to put the old plates back onto your car.

When you get the rentention certificate you then need to pay £25 to change ownership.

I have recently had to do this, hope it helps

Ooops i was wrong

DVLA number plate retention fees
Application to retain a registration number: DVLA fee £105
Application to make an amendment to a retention certificate: DVLA fee £25
Application to renew a retention certificate: DVLA fee £25.

So for you it would be 105 and then 25 to change ownernershop so £130.

Both wrong! You put it on retention for a cost of £105 then they issue you with a new 03 plate for a fee of £25 iirc and then when you put it on another vehicl you pay an assignmeant fee etc?

www.dvlaregistrations.co.uk be your best bet!

To be fair, the DVLA registrations etc isn't clear.

I had problems trying to understand the whole process.

Yes, it's £105 to take the number plate off your vehicle and put it onto retention, then a further £25 to change ownership. Sorry for the confusion, i'v just recently done it a couple of months ago too!
