Default Which Rivets In Front Speakers? URGENT.

I am assuming i dont need to remove the whole doorcard to get at the front speakers, it is just the small grill bit at the bottom which covers the speakers and pops out. When people mention removing the rivets by drilling them out, are these the four metal tab things which secure the speaker in place. If so, once ive drilled them out, can i just put screws there instead to secure the speakers?

Thanks, Sam.

Yes you can just use screws as long as they fit the hole but you have to take the whole door card off

I tried taking the doorcard off, but the wiper arm, and the 'pulling handle' thing, wont budge. Ive ended up slighlty breaking the handle thing! Hopefully there will be enough room to do it through the grill.

Drilling out the rivets with the doorcard in place is asking for trouble and you will damage the doorcard. Take the doorcard off m8 it's loads easier with it off, there are two screws that need to come out before you start pulling on the doorcard, one is in the grab handle (base) the other is towards front door hinge, you cant miss it really, then onto the internal door mirror covers, they'll need pulling off also, its all explained here also.

Not quite following you there buddy, text talk does help either, self tapping is the prefered screws yes but you need ensure you use the right size and they hold the speakers in firmly, last thing you want is them vibrating under high volumes and motorway driving.

Once you get the doorcard off its a simple case of pushing the grill out from the inside (as per above link).

Just rivet the new ones in. I tried mine with fat screws but they would always wobble.

Best thing to do would be to make an MDF baffle but there isnt much room behind the door card to fit a deep one.

I tried to do mine without takign the door card off but i could only get to 3 of the 4 holes which needed to be riveted.

Moreover the window winder arm should literally just pull off. The easiest way to do so - is by using a flat head screwdriver as a lever behind the circular part of the winder. Job done
