Hardwiring
Morning people if i wanted to hardwire something into the back of the cig lighter, which wires do i need to tap into for positive and negative?
I dont use the cig lighter anyways so i would rather use it for my shift lamp.
There are 3 wires on the back f the cig lighter plug just wondering which ones i need to use?
Cheers

Should be just red for + and black for - surely....... if theres only 2 wires going into one will most defo be black, may have a yellow for the ignition wire also

yellow/green = earth for sure
blue = i think is illumination
grey = switched/permanent live
get a multimeter on the wires though, wiring sometimes differs

Pred- quick question matey.........to turn the shift light on originally the cig plug had a push button style switch on on obviously to turn it on and off, this being the case do i need a switch to get it to work? It didnt work when i tried it, although i may have put live and earth from the shiftlamp to the wrong wires from the car
Cheers buddy!
