Default Alternator belt tightening

If i was to tighten the belt, can i just tighten the adjuster bolt? Or do i have to slacken the upper and lower alternator mounts first?

Slacken the securing bolts, then adjust the tensioning bolt so the belt is tight, then tighten up the securing bolts and then done!
