need help with more than 1 sub

any help with this would be greatly ppreaciated! here goes...
my cousin wants to put 4 subs in his van... we have 2 12" and 2 10" at the minute but need to tackle the amping situation. we have componants running off a 2 channel but what else do i need and how is the best way to go about wiring all 4?
the job its self will be ok for me to do, ive done basic installs in 5 or 6 cars but they hace all been componants, 1 sub and a 4 channel amp (so im familiar with bridging channels and basic things)

depends how much wrms the subs are wanting... IMO 2 mono amps, 1 per 2 subs sounds the better idea... if moneys a problem can always source second hand amps off ebay...

then for power to the amp do it as usual but with say 0/1/2 gauge > distribution block > 4 gauge to all amps...

the 12's are 400 rms and the 10's are 200 rms (each)

well look at an 800-1000watt rms for the 12s and a 400-500wrms mono for the 10s

what make and model are the subs?

pioneer 12's and jbl amps. what sort of amp should i be looking at? 800w 2 channel mono or can all mono amps run 2 subs?

get one big mono and run them at 1ohm

i imagined this would be a problem running one amp so was planning on 2.
does a mono amp have a single + and single - terminal and i run the subs in sequence or does it have 2 terminals for each sub and i'd have to ge one specificaly designed for using 2 subs?

single + and - usually then you either run the wire in series or parallel when connecting the woofers depend on what impedance you want..

that fusions less than ideal.. really you want an 800-1000watt RMS amp for the 12's and around a 500 watter for the 10s

giving the 12s 400-500watts each and the 10s 250 watts each.

my subs are both single voice coil 4 ohm, pioneer is 350rms and infinity is 400rms although i think we're replacing the pioneer with another infinity

it shows a picture of the side which has 4 speaker terminals (2 positive 2 negative) so would i run them like the above diagram to give a 2ohm loadwhich will give 500w to each or is it 500w split between the 2 so 250 each? confussled

look at the VIBE slick A7! it has 2 sets of + & - 's but is a mono amp and has RMS figures of 750 at 2 Ohms! im using one to run a 15" Square kicker at the moment and they are pretty demanding on power

but how do i show a 2 ohm load with 2 + and 2 - ? surely it would have 4 ohm on each set?

seems an alright choice... wired as you mentioned earlier each sub wood recieve 400wrms...
