Default Fuel leaking from filter/pipe

Twice now my car has rolled to a stop like its run out of petrol. But its actually a pipe coming out of a cylinder thing (under the left hand side towards the rear) which i have to shove back in. Petrol leaks everywhere.
Any advice on what to do? Is there anything that can hold this pipe in as it just seems to push into the cylinder thing without clicking in or being secured?

They need a good bit of force to clip on properly. Sounds like your is just pushed on (not far enough). Try that first mate if I were you. Hope it works out okay for ya.

The clips on the fuel filter pipes are quite stiff, you have to push them on really hard until you hear a 'click'. Also if the filter has been replaced, some manufacturers provide new clips with the filter, it is always advisable to replace them. If they arn't in with the filter some motor factors supply these clips for a matter of a few pence.
Sometimes the hold bracket for the filter assembly is knackered, make sure you either replace the bracket or use tie wraps to secure the filter to the structure, if you don't do this the constant vibration and movement of the vehicle will loosen the clips from the filter body.

as said above about the clips being stiff!
i found this a problem when putting on a new filter, i didnt realise how stiff they can be... push them fucker in! the hose / clip will sit flush on the filter.

then you know its in!
