Default Squeaky rear end - poly bushes?

Car has a set of Powerflex rear beam bushes fitted, but it's otherwise standard. Have a strange squeak coming from the middle/ rear of the car when rolling along in gear and coming on/ off the throttle, or when travelling on an uneven surface. Sounds a bit like a damper working hard (say over uneven ground), but a bit louder.

I've ruled out the exhaust as that's fine. Had a look at the bushes but everything seems sound. This sound familiar to anyone?

Hi,

I had the same issue with my daughter's car. I changed the front bushes to Powerflex, lubes the bushes as per the instructions. Some months later a squeak developed on one side when the suspension flexed. I could reproduce it by pusing down on the wings to flex the suspension. Googled and found many similar instances.

I sprayed white grease onto the ends of the bushes and after a few days when I was convinced I was going to have to go back to standard ones the squeak went as quickly as it started.

If yours are similar you may have had to squeeze the bush in to the frame and this is where I think the squeak comes from. Try lubricating the bushes as best you can.

Come to think of it, one of them doesn't look totally flush with the beam. Could well be that.

Cheers for the heads up.
