you probs need a 1000w amp to run your sub and it would be easier to ask at hallfords about your wiring kit because you cant put any wiring kit in it because it will melt the wire mate

Min 800 watt amp to power that is it a 10 inch or 12? need a decent wiring kit for that as above could melt or cut out all the time.

what RMS is the sub???
as if it's 1100 PEAK and say 700 RMS and you bung 1000 watts through it wont last long at all....
and as for the parcel shelf idea
HELL NO
box it you can buy them ready built.

a sub will have two power ratings,
peak and rms.
ignore the peak as it only shows what a sub or any speakers could run at maximum for a short period of time, it's a stupid marketing thing to trick you
the rms is the one to look at as this is the wattage the sub will run at constantly without causing any damage.
so you need an amp to match the rms of the sub not the peak hence why a 1200w one is sold with a 600w amp.
if you don't really understand it then just get yourself an active sub alreadyboxed and amped bud.
