Default problems with gears after flooding

Hi

So i drove thru a bit of a flood yesturday and i have a problem changing gears only mainly with 4th. Sometime when i go to put it into 4th it wont go all the way in and i have to take it back out and put it back in again. any thoughts??

im very worried i have broken my gear box

anyone got any ideas??? im in a total panic about this, plz help

if water has gotten in to my gearbox will it ruin it?

Hi Kat,

Dry draining the gearbox of oil and see if water comes out. The try filling with gearbox transmission oil.

thanks for the reply

hopefully changing the oil will fix it allthough it doesnt seem as bad today

do you think its best not to drive it so as not to cause anymore damage?

Bin there...I just kept driving, think the water washed away some of the grease in the linkage or something!
