Default Grill quiestion

im going to respray my grill and wondered if this sounds about right

rub it down with some 400 grit paper, clean, spray plastic primer, wait 15 mins, more primer, wait 15 mins, more primer, leave to dry for 12 hours, sand down with 1200 wet n dry to get rid of any dust or grit, clean. Paint (halfords to saxo black or wicked red) 3 coats, sand between coats. leave to dry for 12 hours and then apply 2 coats of laquer, and leave to dry for 24 hours

All sounds a bit over the top for a grill lol, but im sure it will be smooth as. Did mine in about an hour with rough sand paper to start, then inbewteen coats of primer used a fine grit, then same again with the silver paint, and finally a good few layers of lacker.
Did mine all in quartz silver to match the car
