Default cleaning the icv

should the icv be spotlessly clean when you take it out (engines idlining a little rough an this is my first port of call).

eg i dont want to clean any oil/grease off it if it should have a thin covering

best to wipe everything off it and give it a good clean with carb cleaner , soak it then wipe off the excess and leave to dry out , it gets a bit oily sumtimes cause of the breather system
