FAO people with there own places.
Evening gang.
Me and the misses are discussing about moving out into a 1 bed flat for the moment as we dont want a kid just yet, were going to give it a few more years yet!
Just wondering what general costs are like really.
We will be looking at paying about £400 a month for a furnished 1bedroom flat or about £300 ish for a furnished studio flat.
Just wondering what like electric, water, gas bills come in at really?
We will be going halves on it all so wanting to know what prices were looking at each

On a 3 bed semi, Me and the misses were putting away £70 each, every week on payday. It went into a separate bank account and all our direct debits(Gas, Electric, Water, Council Tax, Sky. etc) came out from there. Then at the end of each month there would be enough in there to write a cheque to cover rent.
Only thing we had to add on top from our own banks was food shopping. Everything left in our accounts was ours to do as we pleased, (plus cover our own personal direct debits)

yeah i agree, about £400 for all bills etc, i was surprised you could rent a place for £300 - 400 pcm.
Edit, it all adds up tho.
£100 for council tax
£80 electric
£50 for Sky
£200 for food
£20 internet

Yeah, that sounds about right.
I'm paying £445 a month rent on a 2 bedroom groundfloor apartment. The bills are as follows..
£82 Council Tax
£28 Water
£27 Phone & Internet
£40 Electric (We don't have gas)
Remember you will need to pay TV Licence (£142.50 a year) and Contents Insurance.

im answer to your question, if the place that im staying in wasnt owned my my parents it would cost me £1,100 a month, thats £650 rent and about £450 on other bits. I just pay the £450 atm, im trying to save for a huge deposit but a new car is so appealing
I would make sure you can live comfy as in my experience something always crops up that needs £££ spend on it.

As per Mr_X. House we're staying in is owned by my auntie and costs us £325 rent pcm. That includes our home & contents insurance.
Going rate for a 3 bed semi is somewhere along the lines of £450 - £600 pcm around this neck of the woods.
