Exclamation How I fitted my new pipercross kit, and what is this random pipe?

I have a vtr and here is how I fitted my new induction kit.
I chose pipercross because I had heard that they were much better soundwise and slightly better performancewise than the commercial K&N filters.

On next day delivery I much very pleased when the parcel man came to my door.

I opened the parcel and this is everything I recieved..

It came with the instructions, air filter, jubilee ring, filter dirt retention spray and a black thing to act as a kind of washer.

Here is a picture of what it looked like under my bonnet as standard..

There were 2 pipes coming from the actual air filter other than the air feed from the grille and another connecting it up with the jubilee clip thing (I am no mechanic)

I ripped out the old air filter and air feed thing from the grille and here is a picture of the huge sized piece of crap.

Coming to fit the pipercross filter (after spraying that dirt retention spray on it) I realised it only had a connection for the jubilee clip part and for ONE breather pipe when I have 2.

I now have it all fitted but with one pipe hanging out and here is what it looks like.

If anyone could tell me what I can do with this pipe, what its for, if its bad to just be left sticking out etc I would be very, very grateful.

To let you know, it runs completely fine.

It drives as usual but it gives a better acceleration. And when you want it to roar, it will ROAR and the heads will turn

So all in all I do recommend getting the pipercross filter, its like christmas all over again !

But i'd love to know about the other pipe, thanks

it a vacume piep for the TPS (throttle position sensor) idealy it should be routed into th filter hosing.

Get a breather filter for the oil breather pipe on top of the engine and attach the vacume pipe to the pipercross tube.

You can see where the vacume pipe goes, its on the very far left of the throttle body on your picture

Thanks alot for that post xD

So the pipe that I have connected to the air filter with the yellow clips I should disconnect from that and I attach to an oil breather?
Then I connect the vacuum where I have the yellow clipped pipe right now?
Until I get the breather is tehre any problem with how I have it at the moment?

Thankyou so much (;

yes do it like that,

There wont be a problem with how you have it at the moment no, it will run fine etc but you may get the revs jumping a little on idle.
