Engine Degreaser
ive bought a can of engine degreaser and it says to apply all over the engine, then to wash off with a power washer, im just wondering what electrical components i should cover up and is cling film the best way to go about it?
also is it better to wash off with the engine running or switched off?
cheers

High pressure water...around an engine. Imo it can cause more harm than good. Cars hate damp conditions as it is without actually pressure washing it.

so you would you recommend just using a damp cloth to remove the degreaser and dirt?

I personally just spray de-greaser on with squirty bottle, allow it to soak for a little white then as you say wipe off with a damp cloth.
Ive seen people jet wash their engine bay before and end up with expensive problems

I remember I`ve seen someone jet washing their engine, I was like WTF?
I would never even try it, bit of hand work (not what you think) and it will all be nice and clean.

I use some industrial strength de-greaser called Jiser iirc. Its so powerful it ate through the paint on my break callipers that was supposed to be "Industrial Paint" (From dads work)
Just slap it on, work it in and wash it off. Quiet expensive though.

dont wash off with pressure just do bits by hand, easy enough mate not worth enducing water in some parts.
i just use wd40 as it cleans electrical connections aswell incase i spray it in them
