Isle of Man - Saxperience

In the summer, me and the lads are contemplating driving up to Blackpool and ferrying over to the Isle of Man for a long weekend to drive the TT course and the rest of the island.

Haven't done any proper research yet as it's no where near a definite 'yes let's do it' so I am just wondering if anyone else has done the same and what was the island like, prices, places to stay etc

sorry to bump ann old thread! i live on the island n my dad has just left the police. There are a fair few places to stay but get it booked soon cos otherwise prices will rocket upwards in the not to distant future. i would go friday the 3rd june - monday the 7th. This is the weekend between practice week n race week which means you will be there for Mad Sunday. Roads dont get closed down, thats just for the racing obviously. Its one way over the mountain section for the 2 weeks, but double white lines etc still count, wierd i know but thats how it works. If you go....keep an eye out for mental bikers...they shift....170mph ish.....i've been 140 on the back of a bike n we got passed like we were stood still. Enjoy.

But seriously if you wanna do it any time of the year well do, come friday head home Monday

Coming over in TT week/practice week you will be spending £450 on the boat to get over

I have took a few car clubs round the island the past few years

Its good for a blast if you like back roads etc....its not a place you go so you can do over 100 mph everywhere.
