Default startup problem

hey guys,

when i start my saxo 1.1 i have to give it a rev so it will go to 1000rpm, but sometimes it will just cut out unless i keep it reved for about 30 seconds. i just bought a new alternator and battery as when my battery was connected to my mates car battery it started up fine and i didnt have to rev it so we fort it was my battery or alternator but it still doing it. do you think it is a electrical fault as also when i put all electrics on the revs will drop loads, when car been running dont have to rev car at all HELP please!

Clean idle control valve. Search on here, lots of threads and info on them bud. BTW the revs will drop as load is put on the alternator when electrical items are powered on, if it was working correctlythe idle control valve would compensate and hold the revs steady.
