Default shuddering while braking & flickering Handbrake light?

Was just wondering if anyone had any ideas on the problems mentioned in the title before i take the car to a garage? Its a 2002 vts and when braking it shudders badly, also the handbrake light flickers when im driving. Checked fluid and its fine. Anyone know what could be wrong?

Thanks.

Warped front discs will give you the shaking effect-old 80's fords were very bad for this. If your fluid level is fine then either the level switch is faulty or the handbrake switch is faulty/not sensing the handbrake lever is fully down.
