Default 406 brembos - squeeling

Before anyone refers me to the stickies, i've already read them all.

I've tried the Xantia V6 disks and they still squeel like mad, the ones I have are 288mm / 26.5mm thick, grooved and drilled, fit perfectly and work fine but they still squeel. I know people say buy the 283mm disks but i couldn't find them any where, they must only be made in 288's?

Has anyone a REAL solution that has been tested with results???

did your dads car just squeel at the end of a braking process, i.e. at slow speeds?

every time he would slow down to come into the drive it would squeal and coming up to junctions...

when slowing down on the motorway or anything at high speed, then there was nothing

Yeah they only sell 288mm xantia v6 disks any where nowadays as far as I know, I got mine off ebay, they fit fine but squeel even with shit loads of copper grease on.

Do the 283mm ones squeel less and where can they be bought from??

no they don't foul at all, i would say 290mm would fit but no more.

the 283's don't seem to be available any more, just had a good luck, yeah gti-6 ones or 307 hdi is another option, my brother has them but they squeel too.

where can you buy copper shims? i dont mind the squeeling at the end of the braking cycle but i'm getting it as soon as i touch the pedal with just a bit more than a tiny bit of pressure!!

Definately just try putting some copper grease on the back of the pads. It sorted out my problem, costs basically nothing and is really easy!

Try a bit of Mintex Ceratech on the back of the pads - Camskill sell it, it's only a couple of quid.
