Oh dear god! Are you like eleven years old!?
Do you want to put lasers in place of the fog lights and an ejector seat in and a big red button that says do not press?
You could super glue 8 valves to the rocker cover.
Hey presto. 16v!

Agreed. He has come here for some advice. Slightly rude from RAFKev. And the answer is no, just do a VTS conversion if u wanted but not worth the time and money imo.

Try using the Search button mate
But to answer your question: The only way to do it would to do a full engine conversion to a VTS

Sorry kid. I was in a silly sarky mood and couldn't resist!
But as said, a vts engine or the whole car is the way to go.
How old are you fella? A vts will rape young lads on insurance. I'm 26 with 6 years ncb and no points, accidents, etc and still pay £600+
Forgive me? X

not worth the time and money??
defo worth the time and money imo.. if you want more power, thats the best mod to do to your vtr imo.. for the amount of money and time you spend rying to get your vtr to around the 120bhp mark, you could have dropped the vts lump in which gna be around the 120 mark, and probs be cheaper too.. then you have all the potential of getting far greater gains oout of that.
thats just my opinion though bud, your car, your money, so up to you..
but the vts lump just drops staright in, no messing about with fitting reli, just gotta sort out the wiring, any mechanic or person in the know be able to do it all..
hope helps a bit bud

Thanks.
*I think* as I've only had vtr and vts that the vts is the only 16v model.
Think the furio is just a trim level up from the sx.
Don't quote me but I'm pretty sure that's how it goes.

how can it be cheaper to get a 16v (which after looking and looking for my quicksilver are about £350 for one with fuel rail, injectors, coil pack ecu and loom)
that will be a 2nd hand engine so you are going have to get the cambelt, rollers, tensioner and waterpump done atleast and cheapest i could get that was for £170
so thats £525 and u still havent done a service on the engine and that will cost £50-£60 if normal service (if doing conversion u might aswell do it right and replace all gaskets so that would cost abit unless u do it urself that would cost £50 atleast)
considering u own a well serviced vtr then u would have already done the cambelt, waterpump, tensioner and rollers and also done a service recently.
then u got :
-2nd hand 4-2-1 £40-£80 (before anyone says how hard it is get a 2nd hand one its much easyer than getting a good condition 16v engine)
-greens panel filter £38( new)
- newman ph3 camshaft form kam racing is £185
- 2 hours on rolling road to set cam up is £125
- if u decide to replace cambelt, tensioner and rollers while fitting camshaft for 8v is only £35 from euro car parts
- head gasket £20.
- straight through sentre seciotn (powerflow) £30
total for 125-130bhp (if ph2 98bhp standard) = £513 from 8b (with still cheap tax and insruance and good mpg)
total for 120bhp most with standard 16v conversion =£585 if all work is done by urself and the wiring is not as simple as you would have fort.
and asuming the ecu you got with the enigine is unlocked and that all sensors work and the engine is good as i have not included the price to rebuild the enigne to check it is ok.
the 16v is better yes.
cheaper NO
talking about this that reminds me ive got a 90bhp early silvertop engine i brought put in my quiksilver after not finding a 16v engine but its in the way in the garage and not got time fit it so if anyone near stoke on trent wants one with all sensors, ecu, loom, both manifolds and coilpack its urs for £40 if u collect.
